{DIY} Subway Tile!

{DIY} Subway Tile!

I almost chickened out 8 times before I committed to tiling the backsplash in our laundry room. If you’re getting DIY cold feet about hanging tile…seriously don’t be scared! This project ended up being my favorite we have done to date! Okay…maybe painting my bathroom floor still takes first place, but tiling was a close second! My biggest fear was using a wet saw…and now I want to put one on my Christmas list. (Hope Santa is reading this.) I promise you can do it…just read on!

Laundry Room Makeover

Laundry Room Makeover

When Tyler and I got married, we searched high and low for a good rental property and settled on a cute little cape cod that we thought was *perfect* for us. We were so excited to be getting married, moving in together and starting this new chapter that we were blind to the absent front hall closet, lack of pantry and the laundry closet located in the kitchen. Now, we did pretty good with a cute coat rack in lieu of the closet and storing our food in an antique armoire instead of a pantry, but the laundry closet thing…wow. Some people may not be bothered by this, but I couldn’t stand stepping around laundry baskets and having piles of towels and sheets in the way of cooking. When we decided to buy a house, an actual laundry ROOM was on the top of my wish list! Continue reading “Laundry Room Makeover”

Master Bedroom Reveal

Master Bedroom Reveal

When we moved into our little fixer upper, we got pulled in a million different directions working on a million different projects. Our master bedroom really took a backseat. {Before + After} Exterior

Now that we hired a painter and picked out colors…it was time to let the magic happen! Painting began while I was working, so you can imagine my excitement driving home that day. I was literally holding my breath driving through the neighborhood! What the heck was I about to come home to? Was it going to be amazing? Was the white too bright? Too yellow? Did it look okay with our brown roof? Was I going to cry tears of joy or tears of regret? Was it a good idea or bad idea to paint that brick? I know, I know. Paint is paint and paint can be changed…for a pretty penny! We had to get this right the first time! Continue reading “{Before + After} Exterior”

Sunroom Reveal

Sunroom Reveal

I have to say, one of my talents in life is knowing when “it’s the one.” I would never label myself as being incredibly opinionated, but when I know, I know. Ya know? For example, I had only known Tyler for about 3 months when we were rushing around getting ready for a concert. We stopped for fast food so we could make it on time and he made fun of my kids meal. “I could eat that in one bite.” Sure enough, he bought a McDonald’s cheeseburger and folded it over twice and shoved the whole thing in his mouth. As he was chewing, he pulled out the pickle and mouthed to me “I don’t like pickles.” Yep, he was the one. Continue reading “Sunroom Reveal”
