Laundry Room Makeover

Laundry Room Makeover

When Tyler and I got married, we searched high and low for a good rental property and settled on a cute little cape cod that we thought was *perfect* for us. We were so excited to be getting married, moving in together and starting this new chapter that we were blind to the absent front hall closet, lack of pantry and the laundry closet located in the kitchen. Now, we did pretty good with a cute coat rack in lieu of the closet and storing our food in an antique armoire instead of a pantry, but the laundry closet thing…wow. Some people may not be bothered by this, but I couldn’t stand stepping around laundry baskets and having piles of towels and sheets in the way of cooking. When we decided to buy a house, an actual laundry ROOM was on the top of my wish list! Continue reading “Laundry Room Makeover”

Master Bedroom Reveal

Master Bedroom Reveal

When we moved into our little fixer upper, we got pulled in a million different directions working on a million different projects. Our master bedroom really took a backseat. I think it is because you can shut the door and pretend it isn’t there. We focused so much on our living space with painting and furnishing and just kept our bedroom on the “to-do” list behind a shut door.  Continue reading “Master Bedroom Reveal”

Homeowneversary Recap

Homeowneversary Recap

It has been a whole entire year since we started this journey of buying a house and slowly turning it into our home. It seems like just yesterday that Tyler and I were digging through boxes in our garage the night we moved in. He was looking for a cable to hook up our TV…and I was looking for my underwear so I could actually shower. Priorities, right? Thankfully, we had some wonderful family members, a super large vehicle, and a lot of coffee to get all of our stuff moved in one day. My awesome mother and my sweet mother-in-law scrubbed the kitchen and floors, my dad and Tyler took multiple trips to get all our furniture, Draco ran around his new backyard to patrol the area and I was….I don’t know, maybe bossing everyone around? HA. It was somewhat of a blur. We went to bed that night, on our mattress on the guest bedroom floor, super excited and so very tired. We had made it. We bought our first house! {DIY} Embroidery Hoop Art

{DIY} Embroidery Hoop Art

I’ve already shared how I so quickly fell in love with my sunroom! If you missed it, start here! The floor to ceiling windows along three walls are bright and beautiful and the perfect lookout tower for my pups to spy on the neighbors and bark at the squirrels. With that kind of view, I knew that fourth wall needed something special! Shelves are pretty, but required me to buy MORE stuff to fill them. A large piece of art would have filled the space, but is slightly boring. I was perusing Instagram when I saw these babies. Embroidery hoops! So sweet and so pretty and the perfect touch to finish off this room. This project was originally featured by Erin over at Cotton Stem right here! Seriously, do yourself a favor and check out her blog. It is amazing and so jam packed with beautiful interior inspiration! So…thank you Erin for this idea! Continue reading “{DIY} Embroidery Hoop Art”

Sunroom Reveal

Sunroom Reveal

I have to say, one of my talents in life is knowing when “it’s the one.” I would never label myself as being incredibly opinionated, but when I know, I know. Ya know? For example, I had only known Tyler for about 3 months when we were rushing around getting ready for a concert. We stopped for fast food so we could make it on time and he made fun of my kids meal. “I could eat that in one bite.” Sure enough, he bought a McDonald’s cheeseburger and folded it over twice and shoved the whole thing in his mouth. As he was chewing, he pulled out the pickle and mouthed to me “I don’t like pickles.” Yep, he was the one. Continue reading “Sunroom Reveal”
